EMPOWERING HOMELESS OLDER WOMEN TRANSITION TO INDEPENDENT LIVING

Karen’s Place London offers safe and supportive, shared transitional housing for women in London, Ontario who are 50 plus, homeless, precariously housed, or have no fixed address.

Helping Homeless Women Transition to Stability

Every night, older women across London struggle with homelessness. The lack of resources tailored to seniors and shelters that are often at full capacity forces them into emergency overnight shelters or leaves them with no place to turn. Women face unique challenges when they enter homelessness. These challenges underscore the importance of targeted interventions and support systems tailored to address the specific needs of women experiencing homelessness.

At Karen’s Place London, these women are not just numbers; they are mothers, sisters, grandmothers, and integral members of our community. We recognize their inherent worth and believe they deserve dignity, respect, and an opportunity to rebuild their lives. Understanding that a home transcends mere shelter, our transitional housing for women serves as the initial stride towards accessing the vital support and services necessary for these women to embark on their journey of transition.
